Whale watching – Whidbey Island

We’re a little bit out of order here but not to worry! When we got back from our road trip in August we stayed with Andy’s parents on Whidbey Island for a week. Andy’s Mum Jill is a huge whale enthusiast who volunteers as a naturalist on the  Mystic Sea whale watching boat so we get to go out whale watching every time we visit – lucky us! While we were there week some Orca’s were spotted close to their house so we headed out in Grandpa’s boat to see if we could track them down. We managed to catch up with them just up the coast and we were lucky enough to see a family of Orca’s travelling past Camano Island with a baby in tow!

Later that week we went out in the Mystic Sea and had an absolutely beautiful day out on the water – no whale pics from me on that trip. I’ll leave the whale photography up to Jill Hein!
